Alice Wooton, ZUMBA Instructor
My name is Alice Wootton. I love to ZUMBA! It has kept me feeling fit and strong. ZUMBA is so enjoyable that I don't feel as if I'm exercising. I enjoy moving to the fun music. At the end of the hour-long class, I'm totally soaked, feeling great, happy and relaxed, and then, all of a sudden, I realize that I've had one heck of a super workout. Join me as I lead ZUMBA classes at the Healing Arts Center of Southern Indiana. I was born in 1956. I'll let you do the math ;-)

Kara Schmidt, Yoga Instructor
I began practicing yoga in 1997 and taught my first classes in 2001. After studying Kripalu Yoga for several years, I was introduced to both Vinyasa (a dynamic, flow-style yoga) and Anusara Yoga (alignment-based style) in 2002. In addition to these styles, my current classes are inspired by Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, AcroYoga, Iyengar Yoga, as well as other types of mindful movement. I include my love of anatomy and safe-alignment of poses in my classes, but I also believe that each body is unique and that no exercise/wellness program is ever one-size-fits-all. So my intention in classes is to give precise, clear instructions while also giving space and encouragement to each student to trust their body and themselves in finding what works for them in each pose. I have particular interest in educating about and advocating for Women’s Pelvic Health/Healing through relaxation, yoga poses, intentional strengthening, and breathing techniques. I am an ERYT-500, and have developed and taught Yoga Teacher Trainings and Mentoring Programs in Goshen, IN, Chicago, IL and Paoli, IN. Yoga is not the end-all-be-all, but I believe it can be an incredible tool on many levels, including bringing balance to your fitness regime and promoting mental/emotional awareness and wellness. I would love to do some yoga with you...join me for a class, a workshop or a private session.

Tim Hellner, Yoga Instructor
I am a passionate student of the world's spiritual traditions and their methods which, through the ages, have guided people to explore their own depths and to realize their potentials. At the Healing Arts Center, I am honored to teach Gentle/Restorative Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation Wednesday Evenings from 6-7:30pm. Restorative yoga is a gentle approach toward rejuvenating, loosening and strengthening our bodies. Its emphasis is ease and relaxation, and it is my goal to help to demonstrate that anyone, regardless of age or physical infirmity, can practice yoga. In restorative yoga, we make use of blankets, bolsters, blocks and even chairs to support us in achieving gentle poses which quickly yield obvious benefits. Each hourly session is followed by a simple form of meditation which helps us to experience the balance of body, heart and mind. My practice has benefited from the teachings of many exceptional persons, but here I wish to acknowledge those generous souls with whom I have worked in recent years: Kari Nolan, Peggy Cappy, Kara Schmidt and Russill Paul. It is my prayer that my students gain as much benefit from our sessions together, as I do. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to share a little of what has so captivated me in my life, and given me so much pleasure and such a sense of purpose. My enduring inspiration in this work is my dear, departed wife, Karen James, with whom I had the great good fortune to walk hand-in-hand along this path for many years.
